Method to the Madness:
In my younger years I was very active in metaphysics and dream interpretation. I usually will have a daydream or even a dream about a theme I can use in a piece. I try to be open to the serendipity of life and the objects that cross my path. Usually this can happen with a picture that becomes the central image of the piece and everything builds around it. It has been a very intuitive process.
Images are laminated to Masonite and cut out with a precision scroll saw. These iamges are mounted on different levels in the box creating a stage that has depth and dimension. Found objects are included where appropriate and support the theme. The box is then fitted with museum glass to keep out dust but also creates a barrier between the viewer and the idea, thus the object is captures in time.
