I’m most inspired by nature, the seasons with their rhythm and repetition, how light plays over water, the sculptural nature of trees, birdsong, sunrises, human interaction, and working with the earth to create beautiful spaces to be and share. 

I love using a variety of mediums to create my art dependent on what it is that I want to express at the time. I work kinesthetically and often let my work evolve. Sometimes I have a clear plan and other times I just begin and end up with a surprise. I start with a sense of place, a feeling or an experience. I then distill it down to shape, pattern, color, balance, contrast and depth in the hope of evoking my original inspiration, but without replicating it, thereby leaving the piece up to personal interpretation by the viewer. 

I enjoy the process of experimenting, discovery and play that creating offers me. It both challenges and calms.
