Painting en plein air (directly from the subject/on-site) has become my passion, giving me the chance to respond directly to light, form and subjects with total focus on expression.

Time becomes a factor due to ever changing light & weather conditions that require very quick direct responses. For me, it’s the essence of capturing the mood of a landscape or pose of a human figure

I use multiple color layering and an intense chromatic palette to push boundaries away from the expected. I prefer using pure earth pigment pastel on archival board, which is proven to be the world's most permanent art medium, outlasting all other liquid mediums, more than 400 years.

Since 2003, my artwork has won over 100 top awards in major juried fine art competitions worldwide..
